Dr. Lewis, who holds an M.A. and Ph.D in Art History from Indiana University, is a scholar of 19th- and 20th-century painting, printmaking and photography, with additional expertise in fine press printing. He is the Editor of LaNana Creek Press, which he co-founded with Charles Jones in 1997. Dr. Lewis is currently writing a book on American artist Letterio Calapai (1902-1993), who played an important role in the New York studio of Stanley W. Hayter's experimental printmaking workshop Atelier 17, one of the most influential print organizations of the modern era.
